In the peaceful darkness of her bedroom, a little girl is in the midst of a nightmare. Her dreams are haunted by a deep-seated fear: that of being alone and rejected because of her pearly eyes. From her tormented mind springs a blue star, symbolizing her fears and her secret desire for friendship. This star escapes into a dream world where star hunters take them to the sky to grant wishes. When a masked star-hunter approaches her, the star takes fright and flees through the forest surrounding the lake. Through dark, mystical woods, her race leads her to encounter various mysterious beings. After traversing this journey, she finally lands in front of a tree surrounded by water, allowing her to discover her own reflection. As she bends down, she sees the lonely figure of a little girl crying. The huntress, witnessing this scene, removes her mask, revealing a compassionate face and bright vairish eyes. In a tender gesture, she holds out her hand to the star, who this time agrees to be taken. Soothed, the star agrees to be taken back to its place in the sky. They rise together, and the hunter lets the star ascend back to its place. In the vault of heaven, she is joined by her loved ones, who embrace her, and together they light up the sky.
