Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about tickets, passes, venue entry, and festival policies.

To ensure passholders have space, we automatically disable online sales for individual tickets as soon as a screening is sold out or reaches 50% capacity from individual ticket sales alone.

Venue Guidance:

  • Morton Theatre: Thanks to the Morton Theatre's very large capacity, there is usually no need to worry about screenings selling out! However, we still recommend arriving 15–30 minutes before showtime to secure your preferred seats.
  • Ciné: Due to fixed seating capacity, space fills up quickly. Purchasing an All-Access Pass is strongly recommended for priority entry, and you should aim to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
  • Flicker & The Globe: In these smaller, intimate venues, we accommodate as many guests as safely possible, which may include standing-room space once seats are filled.

You can purchase One-Day Passes, Full Festival Passes, All-Access Passes, or individual screening tickets online directly at athensfilm.com/buy-tickets. You may also purchase any and all tickets and passes in-person at our registration deck.

All passholders and ticket holders should arrive at the venue 15 to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled screening time. All-Access Passholders and Sponsors receive priority line positioning. Doors open shortly before showtime, and seating is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Festival Badges are picked up at the Morton Theatre Pharmacy. You will see our setup right at the entrance doors on the corner of the building (195 W Washington St).

Tickets and passes can easily be transferred directly through your account! Simply log into athensfilm.com/account/tickets and click the "Transfer Pass" button. Enter the recipient's email address, and an invite will be sent for them to create an account and claim the badge.

We accept film submissions exclusively through FilmFreeway. You can submit your project, view deadlines, and check submission rules at filmfreeway.com/athensfilm.

Downtown Athens features several convenient paid public parking decks close to all screening venues. We recommend using the Washington St. Deck (125 E Washington St) or the College Ave Deck (155 College Ave). See our Plan Your Visit page for directions.
